Anoka-Ramsey Coon Rapids Student Senate Named 'Star Campus'

The Anoka-Ramsey Community College student senate is one of the most active student senates in the state, according to a recent award.

The Coon Rapids Campus senate was given “Star Campus” status for the second year in a row. The honor comes from the Minnesota State College Student Association.

Anoka-Hennepin to Launch High School for 'Super Seniors'

Anoka-Hennepin seniors who don’t graduate on time will now have a school of their own.

The district is launching a “super seniors” high school in the 2012-13 school year. Most students will be between 18 and 21 years old.

Coon Rapids Seeks Input on Park Planning Strategies

Coon Rapids community members are invited to weigh in on the planning and development of city parks and trails.

With the help of Brauer & Associates, LTD, the city is looking at a strategic process to guide maintenance and development decisions. The public is invited to hear about preliminary planning ideas and give feedback.

Volunteers Beautify Anoka County Highway Headquarters Landscaping

Anoka-Hennepin students have been landscaping the newly renovated Anoka County Highway Department building.

Students from Blaine, Columbia Heights, Spring Lake Park, Coon Rapids, and Anoka planted 50 red maple, serviceberry, river birch, Blake Hills spruce, and Austrian pine trees on Saturday, May 5. They also planted 70 various shrubs.

Spring Lake Park Knowledge Bowl Team Earns 4th in State

The Spring Lake Park High School Knowledge Bowl team is celebrating a year of accomplishments.

This year, the team was named champions of the North Suburban Conference, was named conference Academic Champion, placed fourth in the state meet, and place third in the region.
