An 11-year-old Spring Lake Park student may have a budding career as a playwright.
Lighthouse Program student Teagan Nelson recently received an Honorable Mention in the Young Playwright Inc.’s National Playwriting Competition for her play, “An Interview Out of this World.”
Four Anoka-Hennepin students are among 100 Minnesota semifinalists who will compete in the 2013 Minnesota National Geographic Bee.
Students in grades 4-8 competed at the school level, and those winners took a qualifying test that was submitted to the National Geographic Society. The top 100 scorers were then invited to compete at the state level.
Anoka High School senior Tanner McArdle has been chosen as a candidate for the prestigious U.S. Presidential Scholars Program.
McArdle, who earned a perfect score on his ACT testing, said in a statement that he appreciates the rigorous work of the Advanced Placement courses he has taken.
