Anoka-Hennepin Schools Among Top Performers for Students of Color

Numerous Anoka-Hennepin schools have been named top performers for black, American Indian, and Asian student performance.

The report comes from an education advocacy group called Minnesota Campaign for Achievement Now, also referred to as MinnCAN.

Anoka-Ramsey Community College has released a list of outstanding students for the 2012-13 school year. The students attended the Coon Rapids Campus.

Anoka-Hennepin Hires 5 New Elementary School Principals

Five new elementary school principals will be joining the Anoka-Hennepin School District this summer.

The principals will all start on July 1, filling the positions of several recently-retired staff members. According to the district, four of the five new principals are currently employed by Anoka-Hennepin.

The Spring Lake Park Knowledge Bowl team is competing in the state competition Thursday and Friday.

The team won first place in the regional playoffs Tuesday, March 19, and was the North Suburban Conference champion for the third consecutive year, according to the school district.

Anoka Tech Honor Society Welcomes 71 Members

Seventy-one people have been inducted into the Anoka Technical College Honor Society.

According to the college, Phi Theta Kappa has more than 1.3 million members and 1,100 chapters. It’s the official honor society for two-year colleges.
